The Soft World is de wollen wereld van ontwerpster Beatrice Waanders. Zij presenteerde haar label voor het eerst in 2008 op de 100% Designbeurs in de van Nelle fabriek in Rotterdam en sinds 2009 is zij een vaste deelneemster op de afdeling Scenes d’Intérieur van de grootste interieurbeurs Maison & Objet in Parijs.
The Soft World is the wool world of designer Beatrice Waanders. She presented her label for the first time in 2008 at the 100% Design exhibition in the ‘Van Nelle’ factory in Rotterdam, and since 2009 she has been a regular participant in the ‘Scenes d’Intérieur’ department of the interior design fair Maison & Objet in Paris.
The Soft World heeft verschillende collecties zoals de stoere Home Collection Pure met diverse kussens, plaids en poeven en de luxe Home Collection Couture met sofa plaids, bed covers, kussens, krukjes, vloerkleden en gordijnstoffen. Voor al deze bijzondere producten gebruikt Beatrice de bijzondere wol van oude vergeten Europese schapenrassen zoals het Engelse Wensleydale Longwool, Blue Faced Leicester en Devon/Cornwall longwool, Duitse Steinschaf en Moorschnucke, Hongaarse Racka en Zweedse Gotland Pels en natuurlijk van het Nederlandse Drents Heideschaap.
The Soft World has several collections including the robust Home Collection Pure with several pillows, throws and poufs and the luxury Home Couture Collection with sofa throws, bed covers, pillows, stools, rugs and fabrics. For all these special products Beatrice used the special wool from old forgotten European sheep breeds such as the English Wensleydale Longwool, Blue Faced Leicester and Devon / Cornwall longwool, German Stein Purchase and Moorschnucke, Hungarian Racka and Swedish Gotland Pels and of course the Dutch Drenthe Heath sheep.
Wereldwijd bestaan er meer dan 1000 schapenrassen. De rassen en hun wol kent een enorme variëteit, van zachte glanzende manen tot kleine krulletjes en in alle schakeringen wit, grijs en bruin mogelijk.
Worldwide there are more than 1000 sheep breeds. The varieties and their wool has a huge variety of soft glossy mane to small curls and possible in all shades of white, gray and brown.
Beatrice reist heel Nederland door op zoek naar de mooiste wol. Deze wol koopt ze niet van handelaren maar van de hobby boeren en schaapsherders. Zij houden deze eeuwenoude schapenrassen in ere en verzorgen hun prachtige dieren met alle toewijding. De producten van The Soft World zijn dan ook 100% diervriendelijk.
Beatrice travels throughout the Netherlands in search of the finest wool. This wool she doesn’t buy from merchants, but from the hobby farmers and shepherds. They keep this ancient sheep breeds in honor and care of their beautiful animals with all devotion. The products of The Soft World are 100% animal friendly.
